This painting portrays the Manhattan Municipal building in south Manhattan. We took a walking tour of the area, and came across the building at a perfect time of day.
The sunlight essentially divided this scene into strong light and strong shadow.
I made use of quite a lot of fresh paint straight out of the tube here, to emphasize the white, yellow and green traffic lights.
